Californian Oasis – Level 3
Here it is assumed that all of the participating students are actively working as massage therapists. Those students whose practise is already well established are most likely to benefit. The objective of this course is multiple. On the one hand, a different rhythmic style will be introduced which, through the use of the forearms, will allow work with larger sized patients. These techniques, although not considered precise, are applicable to a specific type of patient.
On the other hand, this course focuses on learning to mobilize and stretch the patient’s body in a harmonious way. The mobilizations that are taught in this course are only recommended to those students who have ample experience in Californian Oasis Massage. To mobilize a patient in a harmonious way requires great sensitivity to recognise the particularities of each body, and requires that the student feels comfortable communicating with the patient. Our recommendation is that the student has completed Californian Oasis Levels 1 and 2 before participating in the level.Techniques for working both voluminous and superficial musculature are studied, and we will see how to incorporate traditional elements within this new modality of bodywork.
Correct body mechanics and the use of proper weight application (the use of Hara) will be amongst the primary focuses of this course, ensuring that students are able to work without harming or tiring themselves. Additionally, exercises in communication, stretching, dance and conscious movement will be included to complement the work on the massage table.
We will develop the harmonic composition of Californian Oasis massage and a wide range of more than 70 manual contact techniques. The objective upon finishing this course is that the student possesses a clear idea of the majority of the elements that constitute and give the form of Californian Oasis Massage.
